DESCRIPTION:Archipelago (ˌɑːkɪˈpɛlɪˌɡəʊ) 1. a group of islands 2. a sea studded with islands [C16 (meaning: the Aegean Sea): from Italian archipelago\, literally: the chief sea \n\n\n\nAn exhibition presented by staff from the School of Art & Design that featured experimental practice from a range of art and design disciplines. The works demonstrated the complex process of creation undertaken by practitioners / researchers within the School community. \n\n\n\nArtists were asked to consider themselves and their practice as islands\, which sit in proximity to other islands. An island could be the work of one practitioner\, that of an established collaboration\, or a group brought together by a common concern.
